Stephanie Vanderbeck was inspired to became a Physicalmind Certified Pilates Instructor in 2003-2004 after taking Reformer classes at her local gym. With a background in fitness, Stephanie is a graduate of University of New Orleans (BS Exercise Physiology). She is certified by the American College of Sports Medicine (HFI) and RYT200 Yoga, adding dimensions of personal training and yoga to her teaching. Stephanie served as co-owner and Rehab Coordinator for Integrated Spine and Disc where she practiced spinal x-ray analysis and posture correction while teaching Pilates apparatus. Later she became a certified ELDOA Practitioner with founder French Osteopath Guy Voyer, DO; her emphasis is on myofascial stretch and athletic performance. Recent educational pursuits include Pilates for Total Hip Replacement and Lateral Line Posture Analysis with 2nd generation educator Lolita Trahan.
Stephanie has been teaching professionally in New Orleans, Austin and DFW for over 13 years. She is currently owner of Purely Pilates Center in Southlake, TX and serves as a host for Pilates Apprentice Training group in north Dallas. She believes that when it comes to teaching, on size does not fit all, and that Pilates should be diverse and accessible to everyone regardless of age or ability. In addition to being a teacher trainer, Stephanie is certified by the Pilates Method Alliance whose international governing body upholds quality standards in the Pilates profession. When she isn’t practicing Pilates, she is having fun with her husband and 3 dog “children”.
Tasha has a background in fitness and dance. She obtained her STOTT Pilates teacher certification in 2013 and is certified to teach mat, reformer, Cadillac, chair and barrel work. She is also trained in Injury and Special Populations and has experience customizing workouts to address weaknesses, health conditions, postural problems and injuries. She has been teaching both group and private clients for the past 6 years. Tasha is a certified Ballet teacher with Royal Academy of Dance and has taught dance for over 15 years across Canada and the U.S. She is a firm believer in the Pilates principles and exercises, and she helps clients reach their goals by programing safe, challenging, and energizing workouts.
Tasha loves the mind body challenges that Pilates provides. She is currently pursuing further education in the advanced Stott Pilates course work. Most recently she has become a certified Total Barre instructor.
She resides in Southlake with her husband and two sons.
Amy Hinkel, MSR-PT
Amy Hinkel has been a licensed Physical Therapist since 2000. A group fitness instructor since 1991, she has taught a variety of formats including Pilates mat, yoga and spinning. She received her Reformer certificate from Balanced Body in 2011 after joining an Atlanta physical therapy private practice where she used Pilates apparatus for therapeutic exercise. Once discharged from PT, her patients commonly transition into Pilates clients in order to maintain wellness.
Originally from Charleston, SC, Amy relocated to Southlake from Atlanta with her husband and 3 children. She has a passion for wellness and nutrition and loves to stay fit through Pilates, yoga and Crossfit.
Jennifer McCauley, DPT, OCS, PMA-CPT
Dr. Jennifer McCauley is a licensed physical therapist and pilates instructor. She graduated from Mount St. Mary’s University in 2008 with her Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree and is a Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist. She has completed advanced training in manual therapy techniques, women’s health, and movement science and is currently working towards her certification in Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization (DNS). DNS is a manual and rehabilitative approach based on principles of developmental kinesiology used in rehabilitation and with professional athletes to improve athletic performance.
Dr. McCauley has been teaching pilates since 2002 and is certified through Polestar Pilates and the Pilates Method Alliance. She has completed extensive continuing education training in pilates and is a mentor in the Polestar Pilates training program. Dr. McCauley has conducted and presented research at the PMA annual conference and the Polestar World Conference looking at the effect of a reformer-based pilates program on stress urinary incontinence. Her foundation in pilates prior to becoming a physical therapist gives her a unique perspective with assessment and rehabilitation.
Dr. McCauley is available for private therapeutic pilates sessions and for private physical therapy sessions through her business Inspire Physical Therapy and Wellness LLC. Her physical therapy sessions incorporate manual therapy, pilates-based rehab, and DNS to help eliminate pain, restore function, and enhance athletic performance. She is able to treat a variety of orthopedic, sport, and women’s health patients. Her extensive “toolbox of tricks” helps her patients to not only recover from injury, but to thrive, living life to it’s fullest.
Dr. McCauley has recently relocated to the Grapevine from Los Angeles with her husband, son, and new baby girl. She is a proud member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and Pilates Method Alliance. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, golfing, wine tasting, and of course doing pilates, yoga, and barre.
Nicole Lockhart, PMA-CPT
Certified Pilates Instructor- Pilates Method Alliance - Tensile Strength Studio, B.S. Degree from National University majoring in Criminal Justice. Nicole has over five years experience teaching Pilates as well as working with clients with contraindications including hip/knee replacement, labral tears, lower back pain, and scoliosis. Nicole's passion is to help those with limitations find freedom through movement.
Katherine French got started in Pilates back in high school. As a serious runner, she practiced Pilates as a way to gain strength and prevent injury. In 2007 Katherine obtained her STOTT Pilates teacher certification in mat. Katherine was inspired to continue her pilates education during her time as a prenatal pilates student at Purely. She completed her comprehensive apparatus certification through Physicalmind Institute at Purely Pilates.
Katherine has a background teaching math to elementary and middle school students, as well as teaching zumba and high rep weight lifting classes. She enjoyed participating in modern dance throughout college, and she loves the beauty and freedom of all kinds of movement. Katherine currently lives in Flower Mound with her husband and new son. She is excited to help clients reach their goals, and to help show them how much they are capable of.
Sami Amosson was born and raised in Texas. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Baylor University. She is married with 2 daughters and has resided in Southlake for the last 14 years.
After practicing Pilates for 15 years, Sami has enjoyed the overall well-being and mental focus that Pilates offers. She was inspired to become a Pilates Mat and Reformer instructor through the Peak Pilates in Dallas, Texas. She is currently working on her comprehensive certification through Peak. As an instructor she strives to share the lifelong health benefits of Pilates.
Ashtyn Campbell was born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas. She graduated high school a year early and was accepted into INGREDIENTS DANCE COMPANY (aka DANCE REVOLUTION) as a Trainee. There, she trained in multiple styles of dance, performed, and toured to her heart’s content. She considers dance her first love. She delights in teaching several styles of dance (ballet, jazz, musical theater, and partnering) and taking dance classes around the metroplex. She continues to study at Gayle Corkery School of Ballet under world renown teachers, Gayle Corkery, Carrie Cheng, and Li Chou Cheng. Her goal is to equip her own students with proper technique and build their confidence in a fun, safe, classroom setting. She’s danced for as long as she can remember and teaches ages five through adults.
Ashtyn has always been a fitness enthusiast. She recently fell in love with Pilates, its benefits, and the overall body awareness it requires. She’s noticed a difference in her dance technique and strength since taking Pilates. She completed her Pilates apparatus certification through the Pilates Physical Mind Institute training under Studio Owner, Stephanie Vanderbeck. She is also a certified Total Barre Instructor and hopes to become a Nutritionist as well.
When she’s not teaching, you will probably find her in a ballet, jazz, swing, or salsa class, performance rehearsal, or participating in a local musical. She recently starred as Margy Frake in Artisan Center Theater’s showing of STATE FAIR and Ariel Moore in Gateway Church’s Christmas Musical, CHASING LIGHTS. Furthermore, she enjoys being a counselor at a crisis pregnancy center, jazzercise, singing, decorating, cosmetology, traveling, reading, cooking, shopping, and being a cafe barista.
Ashtyn is excited to grow as a Pilates Instructor and help her clients reach their goals by creating restorative, challenging, and effective workouts.
A world-traveler, Cynthia lived in Okinawa, Japan for ten years teaching English and dance. From stage to schoolroom, she deeply loves pulling out the best in people and helping those around her meet their full potential.
Trained at North Central Ballet and Ballet Magnificat, and mentored by Ann Marie Heilman founder of Movementology, she enjoys a challenge. As an artist and a performer and continues to pursue greater excellence in all the fine and performing arts. Though a teacher, she is always learning either by experience, books, or classes.
Because of excessive travel and dance, fitness has played an integral part of Cynthia’s life. While she has always taken careful consideration of her own health, she recently pursed furthering her passion for health by becoming certified to teach Pilates through Physicalmind Institute.
Pilates and the strength it gives is perfect fuel for her journey to live life to its fullest. Inspired by her own results, she is excited help her clients reach their goals both and succeed at whatever they put their mind to.
Stephanie Boyer fell in love with Pilates a few years back after stumbling in to Purely Pilates Southlake a few years ago. In search of a fitness regime to balance the effects of only running, Stephanie found Pilates to be the much-needed balance of core strengthening, joint stabilization and flexibility she had been lacking. Stephanie was inspired to purse her Pilates Certification from the knowledgeable instructors at PPC.
She is currently working on her Comprehensive Pilates Certification through The Physical Mind Institute under the instruction of Stephanie Vanderbeck.
Stephanie has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and also works in Dallas as a Project Manager for an efficacious skin care company. You will find her happily sharing her passion for Pilates with others in the early morning hours and some weekend classes at PPC. Discovering her passion in the Pilates Method has been life-changing, and as an instructor, she truly looks forward to helping every client realize the benefits of Pilates.
